She earned a B.S. in Art Education from Mansfield State College in Mansfield, Pennsylvania, where she majored in jewelry design and fabrication; she took workshops with Stanley Lecthin from the Tyler School of Art at Temple University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, trained at the Cheltenham Art Center in Philadelphia, and studied hollowware construction with Hans Christianson of the Rochester Institute of Technology.
